Vedic astrology is the branch of study which has been developed from the vedangas and Upanishads of Hindu religion. It is an age old method of predicting the fate and destiny of mankind. It involves some serious calculations for the prediction of the natural life cycle of laymen, depending on the time and place of his birth.  Among the 6 vedangas, jyotish happens to be one. The word jyotisha actually means “light and heavenly body”. The word “jyoti” means light or divine origin; it is like a halo, something which is capable of holding the aura of a person making him enlightened.

The body of Indian astrology consists of two main parts, namely ganita (siddhanta) and phalita (hora and samhita). These two main parts are actually responsible for the predictive astrology parts. They are actually capable of giving a detailed analysis of life and make successful oriental life predictions.  The traditional Indian astronomy depends largely for its structure on samhita which is the subpart of the major group phalita. Depending on the study of astrological dynamics, predictions regarding the fate of a country can be decided. The horoscope of a country can contain issues and events pertinent to its development or deterioration.
